  1. Office Mandate

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is the social welfare arm of the Municipal Government mandated by Local Government Code of 1991 to address poverty-related concerns and committed to the care, protection and rehabilitation of individuals, families, groups and communities

2.       Services and Functions

To attain, this the CSWDO will pursue the following objectives:

1.   To promote, protect and safeguard the rights and welfare of all children through the implementation of Day Care program and implementation of RA 9344, “The Juvenile and Justice Act of 2006”.

2.   To respond and manage all reported VAWC cases, and increase the awareness of the population through education, and information dissemination to all 14 barangays in compliance to Republic Act 9262, “Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004”.

3.   To provide services that will alleviate the plight of solo parents through the implementation of RA 8972, “Solo Parent Welfare Act of 2000”.

4.   To address the needs of all individuals and families in crisis situations through timely provision of financial, medical, and burial assistance.

5.   To provide livelihood assistance to economically challenged residents who are qualified for the program.

6.   To extend educational assistance to identified qualified students.

7.   To implement monthly social pension and other social services to all qualified senior citizens.

8.   To conduct activities in support and observance of sectoral celebration such as but not limited to the following: elderly week, women’s month, children’s month, LGBTQ + OFWs, and the likes.

9.   To provide needed augmentation services to PWDs that are not yet registered with the PDAO.

10.  Strengthen the partnership with stakeholders in the area, to heightened awareness as well as to promote volunteerism and social responsibility.

11.  To advocate the Social Welfare Development (SWD) as a priority concerns for all LGU’s, NGO’s and other institutions including legislators and other concerned individual and groups.

12.To provide overall leadership competence and guidance in the delivery of Social Welfare & Development Services within the municipality through capability building
