Education services are offered through public and private institutions. As of 2019, Carmona has 23 pre-elementary schools (9 public, 14 private), 21 elementary schools (9 public, 12 private), 9 junior high schools (1 public, 8 private) and 4 senior high schools (1 public, 3 private). \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0On the other hand, the local government of Carmona, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office provides Child Development Centers (CDC) formerly known as Day Care services to children ages 4-5 years old. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A total of 1, 215 enrollees from thirteen (13) Child Development Centers was recorded for SY 2019-2020. Each Child Development Center is strategically located at different barangays with one (1) available classroom and teacher.\u00a0Barangay 14- Bancal Child Development Center\u00a0<\/em>has the highest enrollment for this year with a total of 158 noted pupils; followed by\u00a0Brgy. 10 Child Development Center\u00a0<\/em>with 132 enrollees. Meanwhile, Brgy. 13 Paligawan Child Development Center\u00a0<\/em>got the least number of enrollees with 30 pupils only.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Saint Anthony de Carmelli has the highest number of nursery, kinder and preparatory enrollees for S.Y 2019-2020, followed by Premiere Heights Learning Center. Meanwhile, Children of Mary Immaculate School, and Cavite Heart of Knowledge Montessori got the least number of enrollees for nursery with 3 attendees.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The number of teachers available in private schools offering pre-elementary level depends on the magnitude of the enrollees. Saint Michael Montessori de Carmona with five (5) teachers attending to 113 enrollees for the school year, while Saint Anthony de Carmelli that ranked 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0with the biggest number of pupils has 6 teachers available. However, this is contradicting with the 79 pupils reported at Toddler Smart Learning Center that is only attended by 3 teachers only.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Private Schools have recorded a total of Six-hundred sixteen (616) enrollees for pre-elementary level. This record covers the nursery, kinder and preparatory (NKP) enrollees for SY 2019-2020. Out of 616 enrollees, 145 are pupils from nursery level; 283 are children from kindergarten level and the remaining 188 are pupils from preparatory.<\/p>

Among these, Carmona Elementary School has the highest number of enrollees with 1,692 students in 47 classrooms and being facilitated by 65 teachers.\u00a0<\/p>

This projection was made to determine the required number of classrooms and teachers needed for the attainment of a quality and efficient education to both junior and senior high school students in the municipality.\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Comparing the classroom requirements between elementary and secondary level, CNHS, which is the only public junior high school in Carmona, charted the highest number, with an existing need of forty-four (44) classrooms. This can be attributed to the continuous growth in volume of students enrolling for this level. Therefore, adequate number of classrooms must be provided to ensure quality attainment of education among all students.\u00a0<\/p>

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0There are 1, 805 senior high school students enrolled in Carmona National High School (CNHS) for SY 2019-2020. Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) got the highest enrollees with 449 enrollees (25%), followed by the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with 253 enrollees (14%) and Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS) with 251 enrollees (14%).<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0For Technical Vocational Livelihood Track, the Home Economics (HE) strand, which includes Bread & Pastry, and Cookery got 233 enrollees (13%); and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with 235 enrollees (13%) taking up Animation and Medical Transcription strands. Meanwhile, the least number of enrollees noted at General Academic Sciences with 211 enrollees (12%), and 173 enrollees (9%) from Industrial Arts taking up Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).\u00a0<\/p>

The drop-out rate increased from the previous record of 4.92% to 5.36%. These observed trends can be attributed to the lack of interest in studying and the financial capability of some families to support their children\u2019s educational expenses. Not only these, but various factors like illness, disability, and peer pressure could also lead to a high drop-out rate.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Furthermore, with the cohort survival rate of 84.64%, the percentage of enrollees at the beginning grade or year in a given school year who reached the final year of the secondary level have successfully increased. Similarly, the repetition rate or the number of repeaters this year showed a significant decrease, from the previous year\u2019s 4.29% to 3.23%. The percentage for the graduation, completion, and transition rate likewise yielded a remarkable increase in the School Year 2019-2020.<\/p>

TERTIARY EDUCATION<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Municipality has two (2) tertiary schools. Cavite State University, the first and only public tertiary school in Carmona, has a total of 2,313 enrollees for SY 2019-2020. CAVSU has 69 full time Teachers and 22 Classrooms. The System Technology Institute (STI) on the other hand, has a total of 362 enrollees with 44-full time Teachers and 25 available classrooms. Female enrollees are higher compared to male enrollees in CAVSU, which is in contrast with the number of enrollees in STI.<\/p>

Based on the results of the CBMS Survey 2017-2018, there are 1, 015 OSYs in the municipality.
