MANDATE<\/strong><\/p>

Office of the Municipal Budget Officer, as provided for in Section 475 of the Local Government Code of 1991, is mandated to prepare forms, orders, and circulars embodying instructions on budgetary and appropriation matters for the signature of the Mayor.<\/p>

VISION<\/strong><\/p>

Office of the Municipal Budget Officer strives to make the functions, organizations, and systems, and processes in the Municipality more relevant and responsive to the development needs, pursues and safeguards fiscal health, ensures the effective allocation and management of local resources, and where the virtues of honesty, creativity and nationalism are valued and promoted.<\/p>

MISSION<\/strong><\/p>

To assist the Local Chief Executive in the preparation and management of local resources and expenditure budget. To take the lead in the promoting quality spending and pursuing fiscal and management reforms in the operation of the Municipality.<\/p>

Services and Function:<\/strong><\/p>

  1. Prepare forms, orders, and circulars embodying instructions on budgetary and appropriation matters for the signature of the mayor, as the case may be;<\/li>
  2. Review and consolidate the budget proposal of different departments and offices of the local government unit;<\/li>
  3. Assist the mayor, as the case may be, in the preparation of the budget and during budget hearings;<\/li>
  4. Study and evaluate budgetary implications of proposed legislation and submit comments and recommendations thereon;<\/li>
  5. Submit periodic budgetary reports to the Department of Budget and Management;<\/li>
  6. Coordinate with the treasurer, accountant, and the planning and development coordinator for the purpose of budgeting;<\/li>
  7. Assist the Sanggunian concerned in reviewing the approved budgets of component local government unit;<\/li>
  8. Coordinate with the planning and development coordinator in the formulation of the local government unit development plan;<\/li><\/ol>
