Carmona, Cavite, June 13. The Sangguniang Bayan of Carmona headed by Vice Mayor Cesar Ines recently completed the public hearing on the Revision of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and the Proposed Zoning Ordinance at the Municipal Hall Penthouse wherein representatives from different sectors attended.

The 3-hour hearing included the in-depth discussion about the rationale of the mandated CLUP revision, the current land use and the 1998 CLUP which the LGU still uses until the passage of the Proposed CLUP and Zoning Ordinance.

With the assistance of Ms. Lilia Lumbera, Head of the Planning Division, Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) Region 4-A, the Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator worked on the revision since late 2010. The process went through the different phases which include the conduct of multi-sectoral studies, revisiting the vision, setting the goals and objectives, establishing development thrusts and spatial strategies, among others.

In late 2011, after the Revised Land Use Plan has been created, in partnership with the MPDC, the Sangguniang Bayan drafted the Zoning Ordinance which shall be effective upon approval of the Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC) and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
