In line with the Philippine Red Cross’ mission to uphold and encourage volunteerism, the Municipality of Carmona through the Municipal Health Office created the Municipal Red Cross 143. The team’s primary mandate is respond to crisis and emergencies when the need arises. The members also act as link between the community and the Philippine Red Cross for the provision of immediate relief assistance and emergency response.

Upon the formation of the said team, the Philippine Red Cross – Cavite Chapter conducted a 2-day Basic Training Course for Red Cross 143 on July 21 to 22, 2010 at the Municipal Hall Penthouse. The participants were trained on First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, Responding to Emergencies, Soft Tissue Injuries, Bandaging and Transfer of Victims.

The group is composed of volunteers from the different departments of the municipality, barangays, schools and national agencies like the Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection.
