LGU extends help to LPG mishap victims
Carmona, June 25. Newly-elected Mayor Dra. Dahlia Loyola, Vice Mayor Cesar Ines, Bancal Barangay Captain Fermin Levardo and baragay officials and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office distributed financial assistance and to the families affected by the LPG accident in Brgy. Bancal.
A total of P215,000.00 financial assistance was handed out to the 36 families of casualties and listed to have been affected by the said accident. Prior to this, P1,000.00 worth of relief goods were also given to the families to aid them in their recovery.
At 1am on June 23, a speeding Isuzu Elf truck bound for Biñan (Laguna) lost control and slammed on an electric post and rammed another post and a parked car on its attempt to overtake another truck. The LPG tanks on the said Isuzu Elf fell out and caused the explosion which set the residential-commercial area in Barangay Bancal ablaze. The blast instantly claimed 9 lives, injured 11 residents and by-passers who were at the area on the said time; and totally damaged 16 properties.
After the accident, the injured victims received first aid medical treatment from the Municipal Health Office and were rushed to the hospital.
