Carmona, Cavite, June 13, 2010. In line with the Republic Act 8972 Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000, a total of 700 in-school children were given free backpack and school supplies under the Municipality of Carmona’s “Balik Eskwela Program,” an annual grant of free school supplies for the dependents of registered solo parents in Carmona.

Under the said program, enrolled children of solo parents are qualified to get complimentary school bags and supplies from the municipality.

This year, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) listed a total of 670 solo parents in Carmona, where 100 are newly-registered.
